Across the river from Galena IL and only 20 minutes from Dubuque Iowa with casinos and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.

Good to know

This unique & historic home has 7 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms including a 6 person indoor hot tub, two full kitchens and is steps from our resort’s private beach, boat ramp and docks; right on the Mississippi River. The River Rock Inn can be rented as an entire home or by separate Villas all connecting to a common lobby on each floor. There is a 30' deck overlooking the river which is perfect for special occasions or a picnic outside in the shade. (Renovations completed June 1, 2024) *This listing is for the entire building so you will have access to all bedrooms etc privately. There is no 24 hour staff or service.

*This listing is for the entire home - 7 bedrooms and bathrooms. Sleeps 22 with all bedding provided. *Steps are required for all except two bedrooms, please plan accordingly. *Outdoor Quiet hours are from 11pm to 6am. *Beach, boat ramp & docks are shared with the guests of our RV Park & Resort. *Please inform us if bringing a boat or more than 6 vehicles for special parking instructions. *The garage spaces are not accessible by guests. *Due to strong currents and boat traffic, swimming is not allowed on our beach. The beach may also not be accessible during periods of high water or other unfavorable weather/river conditions. *If planning a party such as a wedding or reunion, ask us about our party tents or outdoor tables and chairs for an additional cost. If hosting a reception we offer our wedding venue Potter’s Mill for receptions for up to 150 guests adjacent to the mansion. Ask us for details on wedding packages. Steps are required for all except two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchens and deck are all on the main level with no steps required. Other bedrooms require steps up one of two spiral staircases.

Located on the south edge of town directly on the Mississippi River and below the bluffs of the Bellevue State Park. The mansion is located on HWY 52 near a stocked trout stream and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping and a brewery. It is on the property of the Riverview RV Park Resort which has many other stay options including Tiny Home Cabins, Rental Camper, and campground with seasonal and overnight sites.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the Riverview Vacations Resort including our private beach, private boat launch & docks. Bring your boat and fish below Lock & Dam #12 or miles of backwaters in the nature preserve directly across the river from our property. Walking distance to downtown Bellevue Iowa with restaurants, shops and Brewery! While here, tour Potter’s Mill. An 1840’s Grist Mill transformed into our boutique event center and additional overnight guest rooms. All part of the Riverview Vacations Resort.

The River Rock inn was perfect for our niece's wedding in Bellevue. Extended family in for the weekend and the mansion had plenty of space for everyone. Great kitchen/great room for family gatherings & meals throughout the weekend. With every room having it's own bathroom, a huge bonus for us given that we had 14ppl getting ready for the wedding Saturday morning. Dan quickly responded to every message/request, and was flexible with check in and check out times which was important to our group as we had ppl coming from different areas/states, and some varying flight times as well. A beautiful spot on the river that was easily walkable to downtown Bellevue which is a very cute little town. Would definitely recommend the River Rock Inn and hope to stay there again in the future.

Great place for a large gathering. We rented out the entire mansion and had more than enough room for the ten of us. The pictures are exactly as shown so you will enjoy modern convenience and a tastefully decorated and modern space combined with the restoration of the historical elements of the house. We book a girls’ trip every year, and this is by far the best home we have booked. The road and train noise for those sleeping in the two nicest suites was a little much for light sleepers, so we did some rearranging after the first night to move the heavier sleepers in those rooms. That’s really the only complaint we had that’s unavoidable. The view would be much prettier without the trailers parked between the property and the river, but once again, unavoidable and this is clear in the pictures. The hosts were incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns we had and were ever easy to work with. I highly recommend this location and we would rent again if we return!
